KIDILL : SPIRITUAL BLOOM

 

 

Once relegated to the fringes of society, a silent creativity has continued to unfold. Over time, this energy has gradually emerged at the very heart of mainstream culture.

Through his reflections for the Autumn-Winter 2025 collection, Hiroaki Sueyasu confronted this reality and found himself more drawn than ever to the richness of his own country’s cultures—a fascination born from the uniquely Japanese imagination as expressed in worlds like anime, figurines, electronic music, and cosplay.

Particularly during the 1990s to early 2000s, when the term « otaku » still carried a pejorative connotation, these creators, according to Hiroaki Sueyasu, « combined fragments of reality, exaggerated them, and gave birth to miniature worlds populated by impossible things, rendered tangible with a 200% intensity of reality. »

For his Spring-Summer 2026 collection, Hiroaki Sueyasu revisits Tokyo’s cultural memory, reinterpreting its evolution from the exuberance of Harajuku to the electric energy of Akihabara through the lens of design.

From forms evoking Godzilla’s scales to rubber finishes inspired by the texture of figurines, every detail celebrates what Sueyasu now calls « Japanese sensibility »—a visual language that continues to captivate him.

 

在2026春夏系列中,末安宏明重新审视东京的文化记忆,通过设计语言诠释从原宿的张扬到秋叶原的电子美学的演变。从酷似哥斯拉鳞片的造型到手办质感的橡胶材质,每个细节都在致敬他称之为 »日本感性 »的视觉语言。

CTCTYO (Chūō-chō Senjutsu Kōgei), a Tokyo-based studio specializing in tactical applied arts, blurs the boundaries between accessory, sculpture, and combat design. Specializing in acrylic resin, the studio creates futuristic pieces inspired by anime, blending industrial technology, precision craftsmanship, and the aesthetics of fictional weaponry.

The collection also features unique pieces born from a collaboration with Tatsunoko Production, a pioneer of Japanese animation, centered around cult series like Gatchaman (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman) and Speed Racer (Mach GoGoGo).

At KIDILL, seemingly opposing symbols—punk and cyber, lush floral motifs and destruction, kawaii and grotesque—coexist and intertwine through garments, fabrics, and silhouettes. This unprecedented fusion constantly generates a sense of « fresh déjà vu, » a resistance to homogenization.

This aesthetic, which embraces ambivalent and complex psyches while challenging cultural hierarchies, resonates deeply with punk’s lineage of rebellion against established values. It may well mark the starting point of a new narrative.

What delights Hiroaki Sueyasu most is witnessing a sensibility long kept in the shadows gradually come to light, carried by the movements of his era.

This inner joy nourishes his creative vision, which blossoms through fashion. His work grants them new legitimacy, transforming what was once marginal into a driving force of contemporary fashion.

 

最令末安宏明欣喜的,是见证长期被边缘化的感性逐渐获得认可。这份喜悦滋养着他的创作视野,通过时尚媒介绽放。他的工作为曾经的边缘美学赋予了新的合法性,使其成为推动当代时尚的重要力量。
