Imane Ayissi : Nature as a Source of Inspiration

For his Couture Autumn-Winter 2025-26 collection, Imane Ayissi immerses us in a poetic and engaged universe.

Entitled “Ikorrok,” this collection is a true celebration of nature, accompanied by a reflection on our relationship with it.

“Ikorrok” goes beyond a simple collection of clothing; it tells a story where nature regains its central place. Through his creations, Imane Ayissi demonstrates how fashion can become a powerful vector for change, inviting everyone to reevaluate their interaction with the environment.

Nature at the Heart of the Collection

“My couture is made to truly dress women, but a collection is also a way to tell stories, to express my vision on one subject or another,” explains Imane Ayissi.

This season, the designer has turned to nature, denouncing its maltreatment by contemporary humanity.

The title of the collection, “Ikorrok,” has its roots in the Ewondo language of Cameroon and means “a garden left fallow.”

This powerful metaphor embodies the idea of returning spaces to nature so that it can regenerate, reflecting a new respectful relationship with the environment, which is essential in our time.

Nature is omnipresent in this collection, evoked through lush prints, sumptuous brocades, delicate embroideries, and intricate ornaments.

An Artistic Dialogue

Between East and West

Imane Ayissi’s “Ikorrok” collection establishes a fascinating intercultural dialogue, where Western and Eastern traditions intertwine in artistic harmony.

By paying homage to Victor Hugo, the creator reinvents his delicate floral motifs by interpreting them through exceptional materials such as French porcelain and Shu brocade. This approach gives rise to a true symbiosis between two rich and diverse cultural universes, where tradition and modernity meet to enhance craftsmanship.

Porcelain, a symbol of cultural exchange, embodies this meeting. Originating from China, it has been adopted and reinterpreted by European artisans, illustrating the fusion of know-how.

In collaboration with Aline, a designer specialized in the art of porcelain, Imane Ayissi has reinterpreted the drawings of Victor Hugo and those of Wangyin, a Chinese artist and diplomat, to create unique pieces that blend modernity and tradition.

Shu embroidery, a refined Chinese art, also enriches this collection. Known for its precision and vibrant colors, this technique elevates Victor Hugo’s floral motifs while incorporating cultural elements from Wangyin. The delicately intertwined silk threads give each creation unparalleled grace, transforming each garment into a work of art.
