ANREALAGE : SCREEN

For the ANREALAGE autumn/winter 2025-26 collection, Kunihiko Morinaga envisions a future where black garments serve as a SCREEN to display any color, pattern, message, or graphic. This innovative collection transforms clothing into dynamic platforms capable of broadcasting messages, reflecting and transforming a flow of visuals and information.

ANREALAGE 1

Morinaga paves the way for a new era of fashion, where personal expression and creativity can be conveyed through portable screens. This approach could change our perception of clothing, making them not only functional but also tools of visual expression.

These SCREEN garments instantly change according to the wearer’s mood, drawing inspiration from a galaxy of downloadable designs rendered in vibrant RGB digital colors that are impossible to reproduce in CMYK. Light patterns emerge and fade, giving birth to new continuous visual expressions. The garments—like life itself—are in constant evolution; there is no final form.

Unveiled in the American Cathedral of Paris with a custom soundtrack created by Thomas Bangalter, former member of Daft Punk, the show is divided into two parts, following the story of a collection that traverses the SCREEN. The opening act hints at what’s to come: silhouettes reminiscent of Roblox’s cubic avatars showcase light patterns projected onto a SCREEN, replicated by hand in colorful weaves, patchworks, and quilts, as well as prints created with FOREARTH, a sustainable textile printer developed by KYOCERA.

Marking the intersection of the two domains, a stained glass patchwork look, meticulously crafted from 10,000 small pieces of colored fabric, is positioned alongside its black velvet counterpart, which illuminates with a vibrant stained glass pattern evoking the luminous rose windows of the cathedral, transitioning from static beauty to fluid beauty.

Knitted tops made from RGB LED threads shimmer like jewels made of light, while on a pair of models walking in unison, two identical black looks pulsate with borders and stripes that migrate from one look to another, transforming into tiles before separating again into original patterns.

New patterns are produced every second, generating 60 variations of plaid designs in 30 seconds to create an optical frenzy, offering a fleeting glimpse of the infinite possibilities of design combinations. Like a kaleidoscope, the patterns bloom and scatter like flowers, emerging by the thousands, creating fascinating visual impressions that vanish in an instant; the garment from a second ago no longer exists.

More than just clothing, these imposing black graphic silhouettes serve as an interface for a new form of fashion—a SCREEN second skin, envisioning a future where individuals can exchange and share the designs of the garments they wear.

Like a living billboard, soft threads and textiles integrated with LED-LCD technology , developed in collaboration with MPLUSPLUS, can be folded, knitted, sewn, and draped into any shape. This collection represents a bold vision of the future of fashion, blending technology, artistry, and personal expression in a way that challenges traditional boundaries.
