From 7 to 11 September 2023, Maison&Objet will be a “survey of pleasures”, with colour, extravagance, audacity and humour as its added values.
More than a trend, an initiatory quest. In September, the Inspirational Theme will be an invitation to rediscover exaltation.
An enchantment freed from the austerity to which society and brands have bowed in order to adapt their line of conduct to the context of crisis.
Taste the pleasures of interiors conducive to well-being, boost your endorphins through design, rediscover a taste for celebration and fantasy… This jubilant programme will be presented and shared at the major meetings and events, as well as in a brand new sector of Maison&Objet.
Exalted hedonism and renewed optimism
Have we come to the end of the “frugal hedonism” so prevalent in recent years, which associated the notion of “well-being” with virtuous and reasonable consumption and connection with our environment and nature? No.
But we clearly need to let go of some of this. Without losing sight of these issues, people are emerging with a desire to reenchant their everyday lives.
The Peclers Paris agency defines this new aspiration as an “exalted hedonism”, the vibrations of which the creative strategy agency’s sociological observatory has been detecting for some time now.
This “quest for pleasures”, led by artists and designers today, will find its fulfilment in the autumn, as the programme of Paris Design Week and the exhibitors at Maison&Objet express this new and delightful mood loudly and in colour, addressed to professionals in the sector.
In a preview of the M.O.M (Maison&Objet and More) platform, now a marketplace, many products are already playing the chords of this euphoric score, offering European professionals the opportunity to buy online, all year round, for their boutique or their furnishing project.
This creative optimism will also be in evidence in the programme of conferences to be held at Maison&Objet.
The exhibition’s signature What’s New? curatorial spaces will take their inspiration directly from the season’s new collections, in keeping with the Enjoy! theme.
