On May 16, in the afternoon, a successful presentation of the culture and tourism of Jiangsu, as well as an exhibition on the aesthetics of Oriental life, was held at the Salle Gaveau in Paris.

This exhibition provided a unique opportunity to explore the Eastern lifestyle through the enchanting charms of Jiangsu. It showcased the region’s rich cultural heritage, delectable cuisine, and warm hospitality, offering visitors a memorable and immersive experience.

法国当地时间5月16日下午，“水韵江苏”文旅推介会暨东方美学生活展在巴黎佳沃音乐厅成功举办。此次活动展示了江苏的文化遗产、美味佳肴和风情雅致，为每一位来宾者带来了一次难忘的沉浸式体验。

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, as well as the China-France Year of Cultural Tourism, this exhibition aims to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries. The inauguration was marked by a conference on the presentation of the culture and tourism of Jiangsu Province.

Xu Ying, the Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, emphasized in her video speech that Jiangsu is an important place in Chinese culture and a crucial pillar of Sino-French friendship. The relations between Jiangsu and France date back to the ancient Silk Road. Jiangsu is known for its beautiful mountains, rivers, and picturesque cities. She invited French friends to come to Jiangsu to discover the classical, romantic, natural, and aquatic beauty of the region.

正值中法建交60周年和中法文化旅游年，“水韵江苏” 文旅推介会从对生活美学的共通感受出发，精心打造了本次推介展览活动。

江苏省人民政府副省长徐缨在视频致辞中表示，江苏是中华文化的重要发祥地，也是中法友谊的重要承载地。江苏与法国的不解之缘从古丝绸之路开始，江苏山美水美城美，江苏人民以热情好客而闻名。她诚邀法国友人来邂逅江苏的古典之美、浪漫之美、自然之美以及水韵之美。

On his part, Gilles-Henri Garault, Vice President of the National Commission for the Promotion of Industry in France and President of the International Commission, expressed his long-standing relationship with China. He pledged to further promote economic cooperation and international exchanges between China and France.

法国工业促进委员会副主席兼国际委员会主席吉勒斯-亨利•加罗在致辞时表示，自己和中国结缘很久，将努力推动中法经济交流合作。

Yang Zhichun, Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, delivered an impressive presentation on the diverse facets of the province, showcasing its magnificent landscapes, exquisite flavors, rich cultural heritage, and harmonious way of life. He also emphasized specific measures aimed at providing foreign tourists with a truly immersive, enjoyable, and secure experience during their visit to Jiangsu.

江苏省文化和旅游厅厅长杨志纯就江苏的方方面面作了精彩的介绍，重点展示了因水而生的江苏美的风光、美的味道、美的人文和美的生活。他说，江苏正在着力优化旅游服务，让境外游客在江苏游得放心、游得安心、游得舒心、游得开心。

Chen Zhiliang, Director of the Communications Department of the Changzhou Municipal Committee, skillfully traced the historical connections between Changzhou and France, drawing a parallel between the Seine in Paris and the Grand Canal in Jiangsu. This symbolic link highlights the deep historical and cultural ties between the two regions. Furthermore, he highlighted Changzhou’s charm as a city representative of the canals of Jiangsu province, a city that is open, warm, welcoming and pleasant to live in.

常州市宣传部长陈志良以“遇鉴塞纳河&大运河” 的联系为主题全面推介常州，象征性地彰显塞纳河与大运河的相遇，追溯常州与法国两地之间的历史和文化联系，展示了常州作为江苏运河代表城市开放、热情、温暖、宜居的魅力。

The people of Jiangsu have always held a deep appreciation for quality of life and aesthetics. In this exhibition, Changzhou takes center stage, offering a delicate insight into this captivating city of the Orient. Renowned for its picturesque landscapes, traditional gardens, and rich historical sites, Changzhou truly embodies the charm of Jiangsu.

Visitors had the privilege to explore the unique flavors of traditional Chinese medicine through special drinks and highly valued medicinal herb sachets. Dr. Zhang Jianming, a highly esteemed physician from the city, was present to demonstrate the art of massage and acupuncture.

江苏人对生活情致的追求，在东方美学生活展里更可触可感。在这次展览中，重点突出常州的风情雅致，展现了这座江苏城市的细腻而精致的生活方式。

现场的中医特色茶饮、中药香囊等深受喜爱，常州名医张建明现场演示了按摩和针灸。

Engraving, an ancient technique with roots dating back centuries in China, was showcased during the exhibition. This art form involves creating intricate illustrations and patterns on book covers, adding an aesthetic dimension to the binding. Grace, the director of a workshop, masterfully presented their craftsmanship.

古老的雕版拓印技术，在中国可以追溯到很久以前。这种技术用于在古籍封面上制作插图和图案，为装帧增添无比美感，金坛古籍传承人耿春霞展示代代相传的技艺。

Tea tasting sessions were held throughout the exhibition, curated by collector Mr. Xu Hongli. Visitors had the opportunity to discover and savor the diverse flavors and aromas of Chinese teas. This experience allowed them to delve deeper into Oriental culture and explore the subtleties and traditions associated with tea tasting in China.

茶艺收藏家徐供立先生邀请来宾一边品茗一边听曲，发现和欣赏中国幽香茶韵的生活情趣，深入地体验东方文化，并探索与中国品茶相关的传统。

The Zhogji Hotel brought together its finest chefs to showcase the local cuisine of Changzhou, featuring specialties from Lake Taihu, chrysanthemum tofu, Song-style snacks, and dragon hair noodles. These dishes truly exemplify the finesse and diversity of Jiangsu cuisine.

常州中吴宾馆的大厨们齐聚一堂，展示了常州的运河美食风情宴，汇聚太湖船点、菊花豆腐、宋式茶点、龙须拉面等水韵美食，尽显江苏饮食的的精致和多样性。

Hehe Yuanyuan biscuits, a delightful fusion of Western and Chinese culinary traditions, offered a unique and original taste experience. These biscuits are the result of blending the culinary heritage of both cultures, creating a truly exceptional gastronomic delight.

和合圆缘点心融合了中西方的精湛技艺，具有独特的原创性。这些点心是两种文化烹饪传统融合的结晶，创造了独特的味觉体验。

The originality and interactivity of this presentation were highly appreciated by attendees. Xue Jing, the project manager from the Municipal Government Information Office of Changzhou, explained that the event was organized in this manner to showcase the traditional intangible cultural heritage of Changzhou to the world. As a renowned cultural city with a history spanning over 3,000 years, Changzhou boasts a rich cultural heritage, particularly in the fields of Chinese medicine, cuisine, and ancient book printing. Xue Jing emphasized, « The goal of this exhibition was to touch the hearts of the audience through a lively and experiential approach. The event aimed to allow visitors to taste, listen, and appreciate the enchantment of Changzhou. Our objective was to authentically and immersively present the city of Changzhou, enabling people to better understand, feel, and appreciate the region’s culture and traditions. »

« Views of Jinling » from the Deji Art Museum

During the exhibition, a digital artwork titled « Views of Jinling » from the Deji Art Museum of China offered a unique immersive experience in the discovery of Oriental life, filled with beauty and elegance.

This digital experience showcases the work of painter Feng Ning from the Qing Dynasty, also known as « Views of Jinling ». This vibrant painting depicts the urban landscape of Jinling, an ancient name for the city of Nanjing in Jiangsu, and the social life of Chinese people from all classes in ancient times.

This digital artwork allowed visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Jinling. It captured the beauty and elegance of Oriental life through iconic images and scenes of the city. Visitors could feel transported to another time and place, discovering the cultural richness of Jinling. This immersive experience was highly appreciated.

During the inauguration, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the French Centre for Eurasian Exchanges signed a strategic cooperation agreement. This agreement aims to jointly promote tourism development in Jiangsu province and contribute to the prosperity of the local tourism economy.

The event brought together a distinguished gathering of over two hundred guests from the realms of Chinese and French culture and art. Each participant played a vital role in orchestrating a symphony of cultures, embarking on an exploration of Oriental life. This event marks the commencement of a new chapter in the cultural exchange between China and France.
