Imane Ayissi is making Haute Couture take off

Imane Ayissi has titled her Autumn-Winter 2026/2027 collection « OZOUANDAM OLLAT », an expression from the Cameroonian cultural universe that deeply nourishes her imagination.

Like a thread linking the past to the present, this collection explores the encounter between what has been passed down and what remains to be imagined.

Each silhouette thus becomes a stage in this inner journey, where materials, colors and know-how tell a story of memory, movement and openness to the world.

A trip in tribute to his mother

Presented at the Aero Club of France, the fashion show opens like the boarding of a flight. The models appear like flight attendants, guiding guests on a journey where elegance, memory and emotion intertwine.

Behind this staging lies an intimate tribute to Imane Ayissi’s mother, a former flight attendant. Travel then becomes the central theme of the collection: a passage between continents, cultures, and memories.

the star material Raffia ,

This season, raffia stands out as the true signature of the collection. Far from its traditional image, it is transformed into a couture material.

Sculpted, woven, embroidered or fringed, it unfolds on headdresses, shoulders and silhouettes with astonishing lightness.

More than just a material, it becomes a creative language that celebrates African craftsmanship while revealing all the modernity of Haute Couture.

Between architecture and poetry

The silhouettes play on sculptural volumes, while maintaining a great fluidity.

Imane Ayissi imagines a gallery of characters where contemporary heroines, modern princesses and powerful women cross paths.

Each detail adds a touch of whimsy and enriches a narrative where elegance and imagination meet.

Colour plays a full part in this narrative.

Cobalt blue, deep red, vibrant pink, saffron yellow or mystical purple punctuate the parade with intensity.

Vibrant yet always perfectly controlled, these shades illuminate natural materials and highlight the richness of textures, giving the collection a solar energy and a resolutely contemporary sophistication.

The presence of the ambassador

Among the personalities present, Zhang Hua, ambassador of the Chinese embassy in France, took her place in the front row to discover the world of Imane Ayissi.

At the end of the show, she was drawn to the designer’s creativity and the poetic richness of the collection.

She particularly appreciated this unique way of bringing ancestral know-how into dialogue with the language of contemporary Haute Couture, where each silhouette becomes a story, each material a memory and each detail an emotion.

Its presence is a reminder that fashion possesses this rare power to cross borders without needing words.

Before an audience from diverse backgrounds, fabrics, colours and gestures created a universal language, capable of uniting cultures around a shared sensibility.

Through his couture, Imane Ayissi offers a true journey between continents. He weaves links between heritages, know-how and imaginations, making each creation a meeting place where beauty, memory and emotion respond to each other.
