The competition went very well, and I’m thrilled to return home with a new Olympic medal. Regarding Los Angeles, I plan to take things year by year. I can’t say where I’ll be in four years. That feels too far away to make predictions. It was amazing to see the French crowd here supporting athletes like Marchand. Competing on American soil would truly be a dream come true, and I think the atmosphere would be incredibly electrifying.”

Pallister’s journey almost came to a halt before it began, after she contracted COVID-19, which forced her to withdraw from her 1500 meter freestyle heat. Lani Pallister embodies the Olympic spirit, combining passion, resilience, and teamwork. The victory with the 4×200 meter freestyle relay team is not only a testament to her talent but also to her ability to overcome challenges.

British swimmer Matt Richards won a silver medal in the 200 meter freestyle. Richards also participated in the men’s 4×200 meter freestyle relay alongside James Guy, Duncan Scott, and Tom Dean. Together, they defended their Olympic title with a time of 6 minutes and 59.43 seconds, becoming the first team to retain an Olympic relay title with the same lineup.
